Meet Susan – Your Innkeeper
Susan’s hospitality career started at the front desk of a small hotel in the late 1980s and has soared ever since. Over three decades she’s mastered every corner of the industry—front-office service, corporate sales, and high-end catering—while working with premier hotel brands and award-winning restaurants in Tampa–St. Petersburg, Orlando, and Jacksonville.
For nearly ten years she owned and operated a successful catering company in Jacksonville, earning a reputation for flawless events and inventive cuisine. When the pandemic disrupted large gatherings, Susan pivoted—partnering with several Florida bed-and-breakfasts to keep hospitality alive. Five years of hands-on inn work ignited her passion for the intimate charm of B&B life and led her to Blue Heron Inn, where she now brings her signature warmth, precision, and culinary flair as Innkeeper & General Manager.
Originally from Valdosta, Georgia, Susan has called Florida home since the late ’80s. Off duty you’ll find her testing new recipes, exploring local wineries, spinning vintage vinyl, or enjoying classic black-and-white films with her well-mannered pup Abbott—always eager for an extra scratch from new friends.
